A three-year-old boy from Donegal town has died from meningitis, the North-Western Health Board has confirmed.

A three-year-old boy from Donegal town has died from meningitis, the North-Western Health Board has confirmed.

The child was admitted to Sligo General Hospital on Saturday night. He was being transferred to Dublin by ambulance yesterday for treatment but died en route. The health board is now taking the necessary steps to prevent any spread of the disease.
