Washington - Federal regulators plan to order all US airlines to examine the tail mechanisms of MD-80 and related planes after last week's Alaska Airlines crash and damage found in two more of the airline's planes yesterday. The Federal Aviation Administration said airlines would be given two to three days to conduct the work.
