DUESSELDORF - A German charter airliner overshot the runway when landing at Duesseldorf's airport yesterday but none of the 403 passengers on board was hurt, officials said.

The LTU jet arriving from Los Angeles kept rolling at the end of the runway and came to rest on a paved area, an LTU spokesman said, adding he could not say why this happened. Incoming flights were diverted for nearly an hour.
