Moscow - The Russian centrist leader Mr Alexander Shokhin has accepted a key post in the new cabinet of the Prime Minister, Mr Yevgeny Primakov, becoming a deputy Prime Minister in charge of financial affairs.

Mr Shokhin (46) leads the parliamentary group Our Home Is Russia, to which the former interim premier, Mr Viktor Chernomyrdin, belongs.
