Centra today reported an increase of sales to €1.2 billion for 2006 in what was an increase of 17 per cent on the previous year.
Musgrave SuperValu-Centra managing director Donal Horgan said the stores' performance was "pleasing" within very competitive market conditions.
He said the company aims to open 37 new stores in the coming year. "This will result in the creation of over 800 new retail jobs across the Centra network."
