An action by a Co Sligo man against the Minister for Justice and the State for injuries allegedly sustained while in custody in Ballina Garda station, Co Mayo, in May 1993 was dismissed with costs at Ballina Circuit Court.

The action was brought by Mr Joseph Donegan (46), a hotelier and building contractor, from Dromore West, who alleged he received the injuries when he slipped on a wet cell floor.
