A Catholic school in north Belfast, targeted by loyalists during the Drumcree stand off, has been seriously damaged in another arson attack.

Workers had just finished repairing the roof, damaged during last month's violence, when Our Lady of Mercy secondary school on Ballysillan Road was attacked again.

An RUC patrol, investigating an intruder alarm, discovered the fire early yesterday. The roof was ablaze when fire crews arrived. The school was badly damaged, with smoke, heat and water damage to classrooms.
