Cash stolen in armed robbery in Swords

Two armed raiders have made off with what gardaí describe as "a considerable amount of money" in a robbery in Co Dublin.

Two armed raiders have made off with what gardaí describe as "a considerable amount of money" in a robbery in Co Dublin.

A security van delivering cash to an ATM at a service station in Swords was held up by the robbers, who made their getaway in a 4X4 vehicle that was found abandoned near Balbriggan a short time later.

The robbery happened at around 8.30 a.m. at Lissenhall on the Old Dublin/Belfast Road.
