Case turnover pleases judge

Just under 5,000 cases - an average of 25 a day - were dealt with by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court last year. Judge Cyril Kelly said congratulations were due to solicitors, barristers, probation personnel, gardai and other officials involved in the listing and hearing of the cases. "Without all their co operation this court would be in great distress," he said.

Mr Fergal Foley, barrister, said the legal practitioners wished to return the compliment and take the opportunity of expressing their appreciation of the efforts made by Judge Kelly and the court registrars to improve the running of the court.
