The brother of a Co Monaghan man who was found dead in a cell at Cloverhill Prison on Tuesday had three charges for alleged Road Traffic Act offences adjourned yesterday at Carrickmacross District Court, Co Monaghan.

David Rogers (22) had failed to appear in court and Catherine Taaffe, for the defence, told Judge Seán Mac Bride that he was unable to attend because of the tragedy involving the family. She confirmed that Mr Rogers’s brother, Shane Rogers (32), had taken his own life at Cloverhill.
