The Carers' Association has launched a car-sticker campaign with the slogan The Government doesn't care - do you?
"Our busy Government is doing its best to pretend carers don't exist at all," said Mr Eddie Collins-Hughes, the association's director. "Successive governments have fobbed us off," he wrote in an editorial in Take Care!, the association's magazine.
"They have delayed the inevitable - the abolition of the means test for the carers' allowance for all carers and the payment of a proper rate for the allowance."
