PHILADELPHIA - Cardinal John Krol, a patron and longtime confidant of Pope John Paul II, died early yesterday at his home

PHILADELPHIA - Cardinal John Krol, a patron and longtime confidant of Pope John Paul II, died early yesterday at his home. He was 85. Dr Krol, who had previously been treated for serious heart ailments, entered hospital on February 14th for respiratory problems.
