A young man killed in an accident early yesterday in Co Kerry was named as Mr Dermot Murphy (20), of Caragh Lake, Killorglin, Co Kerry. The accident happened on the Milltown-Killorglin road at 2.10 a.m. There were four men in the car, and Mr Murphy was in a rear seat. Two other people were injured and taken to Tralee General Hospital. A young woman who died after a traffic accident in Co Longford on Monday afternoon has been named as Ms Emma Hutchinson (18), Gaybrook, Mullingar, Co Westmeath.
The accident happened at 1.40 p.m. at Ballinascraw, Ballinalee, Co Longford.
