A car bomb exploded at a checkpoint north of Baghdad today, killing three Iraqi national guardsmen and wounding four others, the US military said
Major Deborah Stewart of the 1st Infantry Division said the attack occurred just outside the town of Baquba, 65 kilometres north of Baghdad, at around 11:30 a.m. Irish time.
