The Naval vessel, LE Aisling, collected a 70 kilo bale of cannabis, worth £700,000, from a French trawler fishing off the south east coast yesterday.
The cannabis was handed over to the Garda and Customs after it was taken to Haulbowline Naval Base at 6 p.m. The trawler's crew found the cannabis in its nets early yesterday.
