ROMAN times, the wrath of Achilles and the death of Socrates Junior Cert students answered questions on the above and more in yesterday afternoon's classical studies exam.
Mr Michael Barry, classical studies teacher at St Patrick's Girls' Secondary School, Cork, and ASTI subject representative, said both Junior Cert papers were "well received".
There was a good balance in the higher level paper and pupils were happy with layout and content - "though the illustrations in topics 1 and 6 were not expected", he said.
The ordinary level paper shares sections A and C with the higher level. "I think it is time that this is addressed," he said.
