A RIVER and a stretch of the Grand Canal which runs through Tullamore, Co Offaly, have been dragged by gardai searching for a woman who has been missing since last Friday.
Ms Fiona Pender (25), of Connolly Park, had been living in a flat in Church Street recently and was last seen at 6.30 a.m. on Friday.
Gardai say they are keeping an open mind as to the whereabouts of Ms Pender, who is seven months' pregnant. They have appealed to any person in the vicinity of Church Street between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. last Friday, or who may have information, to contact them at 0506-21305.
