Phnom Penh - Cambodia's King Norodom Sihanouk (74), in his strongest comments so far on recent political turmoil in his country, said the situation was such that if he were not Buddhist he would take his life.

The constitutional monarch said a return to freedom and democracy under the Prime Minister, Mr Hun Sen, was wishful thinking.
