CIVIL SERVICE car-parks in Dublin city centre should be open to shoppers and visitors outside working hours, according to the Dublin Chamber of Commerce. Mr Noel Carroll, chief executive of the Chamber, said parking restrictions being considered by the Minister for the Environment could drive business away from the city. He said proposed reductions in the number of parking meters and extending clearway hours would exacerbate the shortage of off-street parking in the city.
