A Cork solicitor and Fine Gael councillor, Mr Colm Burke, last night called for a committee of experts to be appointed, to report to the Minister for Justice within three months with suggestions on reforming the criminal justice system, Dick Hogan writes.

Mr Burke said the former Chief Justice, Mr Thomas Finlay, would be an ideal chairman of such a committee and the State solicitor for Cork, Mr Barry Galvin, would be an ideal committee member.
