The co-operatives organisation, ICOS, has called for continued political action to reopen international and EU markets for beef as the peak autumn selling season opens.

The ICOS president, Mr Michael O'Dwyer, called for an increase in beef and live export refunds, a relaxation of the intervention rules and the rules governing de-boning and cutting.
