A call centre in Navan, Co Meath, has announced that it is to expand its customer contact centre with the support of the IDA, creating 42 new jobs.

Europ Assistance Holdings Ltd announced its decision to coincide with six years of operation in Navan.

The firm is a UK-based subsidiary of the French parent company, Europ Assistance Group.

The expansion means the company will increase its workforce to 246 people by the end of 2005.

Speaking at the announcement today, the executive vice president for Europ Assistance, Mr Paul Monks, said: "Without doubt the calibre of the people we have recruited locally and the reliability of the systems we installed were major factors in the Navan operation winning this expansion."
