For the first times since records began, there were no working days lost to industrial action over a three-month period this year.

Central Statistic Office (CSO) figures published today show that over the quarter ending September 30 th, there were no disputes in progress.

This compares to 300 days lost in the second quarter and 1,054 in the first quarter of the year.

The CSO began compiling records on days lost to industrial action in 1985.

Over the year to date, there have been 2,097 days lost to industrial action over 4,000 less than the same quarter last year.
