The Chambers of Commerce of Fingal, Co Dublin, which represents 700 businesses, have launched a campaign protesting against a proposal to toll the Northern Cross Motorway, due to be opened next month.
The Chambers believe the policy would be "misguided" as it would discourage large volumes of traffic from using the road, thereby defeating the purpose of its construction - the use of secondary roads not designed to take this level of traffic would continue.
