Bus Eireann drivers accept deal

Bus Eireann drivers have voted by a big majority to accept the company's viability plan

Bus Eireann drivers have voted by a big majority to accept the company's viability plan. The agreement provides for basic pay to be increased from £180 a week to £330 in return for more flexible work practices.

Drivers will also be eligible for rota and shift allowances worth between £27.50 and £55 a week.

Last week a similar agreement was reached with the unions at Dublin Bus. This leaves Iarnrod Eireann the only CIE company still to introduce new rosters for drivers.
