Fears that bus drivers at Ringsend depot in Dublin would strike tomorrow over contentious rosters have been resolved, according to a spokesman for Dublin Bus.

Mr Joe Collins said discussions between Ringsend management and National Bus and Rail Union and SIPTU representatives on Friday resulted in a settlement over new schedules for routes affecting Tallaght, Blessington, Terenure and Templeogue.

Last Tuesday, drivers voted for official strike action if certain rosters were not amended following lightning industrial action on Monday over the length of some shifts. Mr Collins said the concerns of the drivers had been addressed without affecting Dublin Bus's level of service.

NBRU official Mr Peter Bunting said the new rosters conformed with the agreement reached with drivers in April.
