Nairobi - Peace talks aimed at ending fighting in Burundi are to resume in the northern Tanzanian town of Arusha today amid reports of escalating violence in the central African country, writes David Orr.

The peace initiative is being mediated by former Tanzanian president, Mr Julius Nyerere, and includes 17 parties to the conflict, among them the Burundian government and the main rebel group.
