Irish people travelling to the tropics have been reminded of the importance of getting vaccination for infectious diseases, following the discovery of typhoid fever in the case of a woman recently returned from India.

Dr Graham Fry of the Tropical Medical Bureau warned people travelling to tropical regions to be especially careful about eating shellfish.
