Building society faces court order

The First National Building and its solicitors, T.P

The First National Building and its solicitors, T.P. and Co, have been or to appear in court on June 17th next to explain why they sought a possession order for the same house before two different judges.

The Circuit Court President, Mr Justice Spain, said yesterday that in mid 1995 he had adjourned the building society's application to repossess a Dublin woman's home to allow for further talks between the parties.

"After adjourning this case until December 18th, 1995, it was listed in November before Judge Buchanan who, on the facts laid before him at the time, granted a possession order", Mr Justice Spain said.

"I am anxious to know how and why this happened. It is something which demands an explanation", he added.
