Builders warned on power failures

Power contractors were yesterday urged to take greater care while laying gas pipelines after another power failure, which cut off 1,000 homes in south Belfast. Northern Ireland Electricity said cables were damaged by digging at Newtownbreda, where customers lost power for the second time in a week.
