BSE case in Co Wexford

The Department of Agriculture yesterday announced the discovery in Co Wexford of a case of BSE affecting a five year old cow

The Department of Agriculture yesterday announced the discovery in Co Wexford of a case of BSE affecting a five year old cow. The animal was part of a suckler herd of more than 100 cattle. It was the 35th case of BSE in 1996 and the 150th since the disease was first diagnosed. The herd will be destroyed and the owners compensated.
