THE British government has agreed to pay for damage caused to Northern Ireland schools during the Drumcree standoff.

THE British government has agreed to pay for damage caused to Northern Ireland schools during the Drumcree standoff.

The North's education minister, Mr Michael Ancram, announced that £1 million had been made available to state schools hit by arson attacks during the civil unrest in July and August. More than 20 schools were affected and the cost of the damage was estimated at £3 million.
