The European Union bridge team championships will be held in Salsomaggiore, Italy, from April 17th to 25th. The Irish Bridge Union is holding trials to select teams for the open and women's events.
Qualifiers for the final trials next weekend are:-
Open: 1, D. and T. Garvey, M. O Briain, J. Carroll; 2, D. Greenwood, Dr H. Campbell, T.G. Mackenzie, Dr S. Hall; 3, P. Pigot, D. Mac Aonghusa, T. Roche, P. O Briain. They will join the exempted team, T. Hanlon, Dr H. McGann, P. Walshe and N. Toibin.
Women: 1, A. and R. O'Keeffe, M. Barry, A. Montwill2, P. Meehan, P. O'Neill, P. Ryan, P. MacMahon; 3, T. Rigney, H. Dowling-Long, G. Barton, R. Ennis; 4, C. Pippet, E. Joyce, G. Finegan, B. Lynch.
All matches will be played at the Regent, Waterloo Road, Dublin.
