The Contract Bridge Association of Ireland's annual general meeting will take place in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel, Athlone, on June 24th. Mr Michael O'Connor (Galway) will succeed Ms Kay Molloy (Kilkenny) as president. Mr Seamus Dowling has been nominated by the Dublin South Region as president-elect.
The Irish Bridge Union's all-Ireland team championship (Egan Trophy), played in the Mourne Golf Club, Newcastle, Co Down, was won by T.G. Mackenzie, Dr H. Campbell, I. Lindsay and D. Greenwood. Runners-up were B.J. O'Brien, R. Milne, T. Roche, and P. O Briain.
The IBU has chosen Dr H. Campbell as non-playing captain of the open team to compete in the world championships in Maastricht, Holland, from August 26th to September 9th. The players on the open team are: T. Hanlon, Dr H. McGann, Dr G. M. Keaveney, R. Timlin, N. Toibin, and R. Boland.
