THE Minister for Education was accused of "pussy footing" in her handling of the mistakes made by correctors of last year's art papers in the Leaving Certificate examination.
In a passionate interjection in the order of business, Fianna Fail's Ms Ann Ormonde demanded that Ms Breathnach come to the House to brief members on how the mistake was made and to explain why the issue was not made public before now.
As a teacher who had often corrected exam papers herself, Ms Ormonde said it was vital that the Minister should give a clear account of the situation.
