A breakthrough in the Vita Cortex sit-in in Cork failed to materialise over the weekend, despite ongoing contacts between the parties to the long-running dispute.
Siptu’s Gerry McCormack said the Labour Relations Commission told him there was as yet no basis for bringing the parties together for direct talks. “The process of contacts will continue and we would hope that there will be further progress next week,” he said.
