Gardaí at Pearse Street are investigating an overnight break-in at Garda offices in Dublin's Harcourt Street.
The incident was discovered at shortly after 12.30am.
An attempt was made to start a small fire in the building, but this was put out by gardaí who were alerted by the building's fire alarm.
A number of personal items, including pieces of Garda uniform, were taken from an office in the building.
The area has been sealed off for forensic examination.
