BRASILIA - A Brazilian farmer caged like a rabid dog for 13 years by his wife and her lover was finally freed in a rescue mission by his cousins, the Correio Braziliense newspaper reported yesterday.

The newspaper said Mr Mariano Jose da Silva had been locked in a windowless room, chained to the wall and had only a hammock for a bed for over a decade after he caught his wife, Antonia Maria, in bed with the other man.
