Possible strike action at the Braun manufacturing plant in Carlow has been averted after 400 workers who are members of SIPTU voted to accept a revised pay offer.

There was concern that industrial action may have put the safety of the jobs at risk. An overtime ban and a work to rule have been in place at the plant since the middle of last month.

Today's vote brings to an end industrial action lasting a couple of years at the plant.
