At the MTV Awards last November, Boyzone's Shane Lynch addressed the vexed question of whether his ageing boyband would stay together in the new millennium. Lynch's expletive-laden protests may be in vain, however, and this series of shows at the Point may well be Boyzone's swansong. By announcing a sabbatical while Ronan Keating (right) works on his solo career, The Boyz may be trying to let their fans down gently: by the time the teens realise that the 'Zone has been shut down, Westlife, should already be firmly esconsed in their hearts and on their bedroom walls. Boyzone play The Point, Dublin, tonight, and next Monday and Tuesday.
