Boy seriously hurt in 'hit and run'

A hit-and run incident in Dublin this evening has left a boy in a serious condition in hospital.

A hit-and run incident in Dublin this evening has left a boy in a serious condition in hospital.

The 10-year-old was struck by a silver car at the junction of St Eithne's Road and Fassaugh Road in Cabra, Dublin 7, at about 5.30pm.

The silver car that hit him did not remain at the scene. The boy was removed to Temple Street where gardaí described his condition as serious.

The scene has been preserved by gardaí for technical examination. They have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Mountjoy Garda station on 01-6668600.
