AN 11-YEAR-OLD boy has come up with a name for Dublin Zoo's two-month-old Asian elephant.

Cian Cooke, from Tallaght, suggested Budi, meaning "wise one" in Indonesian, for the new-born animal after searching on the internet for a name.

The bull elephant was officially named yesterday after an online competition which more than 1,000 people entered.

Budi weighed in at 80kg (176lb) on February 17th and has since trebled in size and is now 260kg.
