Bosnia is issuing a special commemorative stamp in honour of the Princess of Wales, who went there on a humanitarian visit just three weeks before she was killed in a car crash.

The stamp shows a smiling Diana in a white shirt, with her sunglasses raised and resting in her hair. A map of Bosnia and two red roses accompany the portrait.

The stamp was designed by Bosnian artist Nedzad Cmajcanin, based on a photograph taken of the princess during a three-day visit in August to meet Bosnia's landmine victims.

"It is logical that we honour the princess's visit to Bosnia because it was her last official humanitarian mission," a spokesman for the state postal company said.

The German state printing company had produced 100,000 copies of the stamp, which will not be reprinted. Its face value is 1.5 deutschmarks, the de facto currency of Bosnia.
