US bookshop chain Borders has announced plans to open its first Irish shop this autumn.

US bookshop chain Borders has announced plans to open its first Irish shop this autumn.

Borders' shop will be a 20,000-square-foot two-storey superstore in the West End Retail Park in Blanchardstown.

The company says the Blanchardstown shop will feature some 200,000 books with an extensive selection of Irish language titles and books written by Irish authors.

The shop will also sell music and stationary and will include a Starbucks Coffee shop.

Borders Group had revenues of $3.9 billion in 2004 and employs some 34,000 people worldwide.
