Bord Gáis has signed a €300 million agreement to construct and operate an electricity-generation plant with ConocoPhillips in Whitegate, Co Cork.
In a statement today Bord Gáis said the deal related to developing a 440 MW gas fired power plant.
Bord Gáis said the plant is scheduled to be fully operational by 2009, subject to planning approval and a connection agreement with Eirgrid.
