Future battles about the interests of workers are more likely to take place in boardrooms than on the streets and to be based on an analysis of balance sheets and economic trends than on colourful rhetoric, Mr Justice Frank Murphy writes in the foreward to a new book, Trade Union Membership and the Law.

The book by a barrister, Ms Cathy Maguire, looks at the legal implications of the relationship between unions and their members, as well as labour law. It is published by Round Hall and costs £35.
