Irish rock star Bono was today awarded the Pablo Neruda Medal of Honour by the Chilean authorities for his contribution to music and to humanitarian causes.
Bono was presented with the medal at a ceremony in Chilean ambassador's residence in Dublin this morning.
The distinction has been awarded to 100 people around the world to mark the centenary of the birth of the south American country's most famous country Pablo Neruda.
