An Englishman who took part in a homosexual bondage act in which the 65-year-old victim died from strangulation and suffocation yesterday lost his appeal against a six-year sentence imposed when he pleaded guilty to recklessly engaging in conduct which endangered health.

Liam Jameson (36), from Woolwich, London, but with an address at Synnot Place, North Circular Road, Dublin, pleaded guilty to the offence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court last November and was jailed for six years. Yesterday the Court of Criminal Appeal dismissed his claim that the sentence was too severe.

The dead man was found by his cleaner two days after he had met Jameson in a pub in response to an advertisement in Hot Press magazine.
