The Government has established an Inter-Departmental Committee to examine the procedures for handling sensitive information by civil servants, following the leaking of material from the Department of Foreign Affairs. The committee will be chaired by the Government Secretary, Mr Frank Murray, and will include representatives from the Departments of Finance, Justice and Foreign Affairs and the Office of the Attorney General. It is understood the committee will consider tracking sensitive documents within government.
