The body of a fisherman has been recovered from the sea near Hook Head, Co Wexford.

The alert was raised after a fishing boat reportedly ran around between Dunmore East and Swine Head at 10.30am today.

The area was searched by the Dunmore East Lifeboat, the Dunmore East Coast Guard Unit, the Fethard Lifeboat and the Coast Guard helicopter/

A man’s body was recovered at about noon. He has not yet been named by gardaí.
